Driving Customer Insights Through a Targeted Email Survey

Challenge:


Fluid-Aire Dynamics wanted to better understand the needs of existing customers and uncover opportunities for future growth. The company had limited direct feedback from customers regarding service satisfaction, product needs, and future purchasing plans.


The goal was to create a simple, high-engagement campaign that would encourage customers to share feedback while also strengthening relationships with the brand.


Strategy:
 

I developed a customer feedback campaign centered around a short survey designed to maximize participation. The strategy focused on three key elements:

  • Low time commitment: Emphasizing that the survey would only take five minutes to complete.

  • Clear incentive: Offering a chance to win one of five $500 Visa gift cards.

  • Direct value: Framing the survey as a way for customers to influence future products and services.


The campaign messaging highlighted the simplicity of participation while reinforcing that customer input would play a role in shaping the company’s future strategy.


Execution:


I designed and launched a targeted email campaign distributed through HubSpot to a segmented list of customers and sales contacts.


Key campaign elements included:

  • A strong subject line designed to immediately communicate value:

  •  “5 Minutes, 5 Questions and YOU can be 1 of 5 winners of $500!”

  • A clear visual call-to-action encouraging recipients to take the survey.

  • Concise messaging explaining the purpose of the survey and the benefit of participating.

  • Personalization through dynamic sender fields, allowing the email to appear from the recipient’s assigned sales representative.

  • ​

The email was sent to 3,449 contacts, ensuring the survey reached an engaged and relevant audience.

Results:
The campaign generated strong engagement and meaningful customer participation.
Campaign Performance

  • Open Rate: 23.29%

  • Unique Opens: 798

  • Click-Through Rate: 8.65%

  • Unique Clicks: 69

  • Reply Rate: 0.15%

 

The results demonstrated that a concise message combined with a clear incentive effectively motivated customers to participate.
 

Key Insight:
